Laura C. Kahler

“I am always listening closely to ensure the tools we use reflect the dynamics, priorities,

and goals that matter most to each client. Every family is different, and I believe good

planning meets people where they are while keeping an eye on future possibilities.”

Laura Kahler joined Gianelli, Friedman, Jeffries & McKernan in 2025. Her practice covers the full range of foundational estate planning, from wills and trusts to incapacity planning and more. She helps clients navigate the legal and personal aspects of preparing for the future, with plans that reflect their values, relationships, and long-term goals. In addition to this core work, Laura is expanding her expertise in tax planning, entity formation, and supplemental (special) needs planning- areas that often intersect with estate planning in meaningful ways.

Laura aims to make the estate planning process clear and approachable. She values candid communication and encourages her clients to ask questions, share concerns, and stay engaged throughout the process. Whether clients are navigating complex circumstances or more traditional needs, Laura wants everyone she works with to leave feeling informed, confident, and fully heard.

Outside the office, Laura serves on the board of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), supporting children in foster care, and on the board of the Stanislaus County Estate Planning Council. She shares her home with her husband, toddler, two dogs, and a tortoise. In quieter moments, she is learning to quilt.
